WEC’s projects are positioned to take advantage of the favorable economics created by the dramatic changes in the U.S. energy marketplace. With new technology and processes that allow crude oil to be extracted from shale deposits, domestic production of crude oil has increased 25% since 2008 and is expected to continue this upward trend. At the same time, U.S. exports of refined petroleum products are growing – up 78% since 2008. At the end of 2011 the U.S. was a net exporter of refined petroleum products for the first time since 1949.

WEC projects are environmentally friendly and have been designed to minimize permitting requirements and allow for rapid deployment. Our current projects are located in the Eagle Ford shale, close to the source of the crude oil.
