WEC Chooses Whitetail Refinery Site

COTULLA, Texas – Worldwide Energy Consortium, Inc. (WEC) recently finalized negotiations to secure property in the Gardendale Railroad industrial park for a 15,000 barrel per day refinery. The refinery, known as the Whitetail Refinery, will be located to the north of the current rail facility; rail services will be extended to include the refinery site.

According to WEC CEO, Dave Martinelli, the site for the refinery was chosen to take advantage of the oil production from the Eagle Ford Shale play, considered to be one of the largest Oil and Gas fields in the world. “We could not be more pleased with the choice of locations for the refinery,” said Mr. Martinelli. “La Salle County is at the center of the Eagle Ford Shale and the direct access to rail transportation that this site affords will be integral to the success of the refinery.”

The Whitetail Refinery is being engineered to create an efficient and ecological operation. The Refinery consists of a crude oil distillation unit (CDU) with the requisite equipment and storage, including a rail loading terminal. The operational footprint of the Refinery will be approximately 70 acres including storage tanks and office facilities.
